The purpose of this assignment is to understand how science can be infused with biases, forms of representation, culture and power in a way that can shape knowledge production, ideas, or behavior. We will do so by examining measures, and considering how wording, language translation, and concepts might reflect biases that are not relevant for certain ages, groups, settings, populations.

Task
Upload critique of measure. Due Tuesday, April 4 by 11:59 pm EST. Upload the paper in word format using 1” margins and 11 point Arial font or 12 point Times New Roman font. Your critique should be no more than 1 page, double-spaced.
Find a measure of interest that is commonly used to evaluate a health outcome that you care about (for example, obesity) or that measures a structural or social determinant of health relevant to your outcome of interest (for example, poverty). evaluates the efficacy or effectiveness of a structural or social intervention to address the health outcome you have identified as your area of interest. Post an attachment of this measure or embed a link to this measure.
Second, in your written critique, explicitly discuss aspects of this measure that might be problematic for certain groups, population, settings. Consider issues relating to age, gender, setting, culture, language and more.
