Your research study proposal will require you to describe the research methods and procedures you intend to use to conduct the study. This section of your proposal will combine information gathered from two items: a needs assessment and a program evaluation. You will begin the needs assessment this week and complete it in Week 6, then write a program evaluation in Week 7.
A needs assessment will help you collect valuable information about any population you are studying.
A program evaluation will use the needs assessment you’ve created to help you formulate a plan for assessing your study proposal.

Using your research topic and/or question and the literature you have collected for your research study proposal, prepare for an interview where you can connect with someone in the field who is familiar with your topic. Follow these steps:
Read existing literature related to the research study proposal you have selected to be prepared to have a dialogue on the topic.
Identify professionals in the helping profession who may be available for an interview to informally chat about your topic. Reach out to these individuals to find someone who is available and willing to set up a time to speak to you.
Prepare to ask the following questions to the professional:
What is the single most pressing need individuals have in this community or with this concern?
How are these needs currently being addressed, if at all?
What could be done better to serve these individuals or community?
Be sure to provide the professional with the University of Phoenix Interview Consent Form prior to conducting the interview AND turn this in for Week 6 Needs Assessment Part 2.
Submit the following attestation statement for your assignment: “I, (insert name), attest that I am preparing to complete the interview with a professional in the field who will sign the consent for me to submit in Week 6 and am aware this is a part of my assignment for Week 6 Needs Assessment Part 2.”
