RESEARCH WRITING ASSIGNMENT REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
THIS PAPER MUST BE at least 1500 words in length, not including the cover page, or the references page. Keep the length to 1500 with no more than 250 extra words. If the paper is not edited to the allowed 1750 words, the paper will be graded on the first 1750 words only. Papers with less than 1500 words will not be accepted. This word count does not include an abstract or the references.
Respond to the topic assigned in the individual paper targeting an exploration of literature in psychology on the topic and an application of the principles learned.
All papers will follow American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition guidelines and will include APA Style formatting.
These include:
1. Double Spaced Type
2. New Times Roman 12 pt font
3. ″1″ inch margins all around
4. An APA Style 7th edition Cover Page
5. Introduction at the beginning of the paper (this is a part of the body of the paper) consisting of background information on the topic: generally a paragraph.
6. Body of the paper (this is the research on the topic of the paper 1500 words including the introduction and conclusion).
7. Conclusion (this is the part of the body of the paper consisting of the application of the information learned: generally three paragraphs). Please do not summarize the material in your paper. Discuss how you will apply the information learned about the topic in real world settings. This should demonstrate what you have learned and how to apply that information in unique situations. Examples may include applications to your personal, professional, social, or community lives.
8. In-Text citation of sources. Each of the required five [5] sources must be used and referenced at least once in the body of the paper or they cannot be included in the references.
9. Reference page of sources cited in APA style. You must have at least 5 credible sources. Please do not use internet sources that are not based on scholarly work. PLEASE USE THE EFSC LIBRARY DATABASES FOR ACADEMICALLY ACCEPTED PSYCHOLOGY JOURNALS ONLY!!!! THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE DICTIONARIES
10. You may use your textbook as one source, all other sources should be credible in the field of psychological research. It is expected that your research will be based on peer reviewed scholarly journals and articles which may be retrieved using the Eastern Florida State College Library online databases. Do not simply Google your topic and use online information found in that manner. Only, articles from accepted scholarly journals or books will be accepted.
11. These papers will be submitted to Turnitin for an originality report. Any paper assessed as more than 15% non original will receive a 0. All non-original material will be evaluated by the professor for acceptability.
No research paper will be accepted without a cover page, reference page, in-text citations, and an originality report of less that 15% original work.
