Patients today use the internet prolifically to locate health information. However, credible resources are not always accessed. Consider how you, as the nurse, can better guide patients in the use of credible health information using informatics tools. Choose a clinical topic of interest to you. Example: Diabetes. Apply concepts learned in in your text to:
Include a 1–2-page paper (academic paper format) highlighting who your target audience is, explain how you would teach a patient to locate credible health sources. The paper should have an introduction, purpose statement, and a conclusion. Follow APA formatting.
Create an academic paper using APA 7th edition formatting:
Introduce the topic (include a purpose statement: The purpose of this paper is….)
Describe the target audience.
Explain why your topic is important in regard to improving health literacy.
Write a summary of the key points of your paper.
Create a patient teaching Brochure or Infograph on the clinical topic of choice.
Ensure there are easy to understand terminology.
Add graphics to convey messages without words.
Include a minimum of three (3) credible sources (with URL) patients can access for more information (ensure the sites are legitimate and contain credible information)
