these are the steps and you have to follow them perfectly (I need the slides layout) and it has to be a 8-minute presentation
Overview
The purpose of this assessment task is to demonstrate your ability to communicate to a small group of your peers. Clear communication is vital for a pharmacist and this task allows you to communicate on a subject you have previously researched and written about and are therefore familiar with: how a biological system is altered in disease and the rationale for drug choices to treat that particular disease.
This assessment will help you further develop the skills required to:
Explain scientific concepts in a manner that reveals your understanding.
Communicate information logically, concisely and clearly for a specific purpose – in this case, to inform.
Source, and effectively and ethically use, scientific literature to support an argument.
Listen actively.
Ask questions.
Details
You will prepare and deliver a 8-minute audio-visual presentation to a known audience of your peers and facilitator.
You will present on the same disease-drug combination you selected for your essay.
Presentation prompt: Why is the drug you have selected able to treat a specific disease?
Please note: the presentation is not to be a read version of your essay. You must develop a version that takes into account the differences between oral and written forms of communication, the needs of your audience, and the purpose of the presentation – in this case, the purpose is to inform.
Your presentation is to be supported by a PowerPoint presentation (or similar – e.g. Prezi, Glogster).
During the presentation, you will need to:
provide general background information on the disease
explain how the disease influences or affects the structure or function of a particular organ or system within the human body
explain how the mechanism of action of a provided treatment may modify the disease process or treat the symptoms seen in your disease
explicitly link the mechanism of action of your drug with the disease.
Immediately after each presentation
There will be two minutes for you to answer questions from your peers and the facilitator.
Marks will be allocated for the way you answer questions.
Marks will also be allocated for asking questions, so you will need to actively listen and ask questions of your peers after their presentations.
Structure
The presentation should provide a logical flow of information that allows you to demonstrate to the audience that you understand the pathophysiology or pathological changes that occur in disease states and how drug treatments are designed to address these pathologies, either modifying/reversing the disease process or providing relief from the symptoms.
Evidence-based
To support the information you draw on in your presentation (and this can be text or images), you are to find and use appropriate (current, relevant, authoritative) sources of information. Citations for each of these resources must be included on the slide in which this work or material is presented and a full reference list must be included in the presentation – generally as the final slide.
References
You are required to correctly cite and reference your work using the Library’s APA (6th ed.) style guide http://guides.lib.monash.edu/citing-referencing/apa
You will need to include a reference list of all sources you cited in your presentation.
The reference list is to be organised according to APA (6th ed.) conventions.
The reference list must start on a new slide and have a heading “Reference List”.
References and in-text citations are used to provide an acknowledgement of the intellectual properties of others so that you cannot be accused of plagiarism. This also helps to:
(i) provide scholarly support for your statements, and
(ii) record information sources for a reader to find the original sources.
