There are a number of myths about suicide that persist in society. What is one misconception that you had about suicide before completing the readings and associated course materials for this week? What is the correct information that you learned from this week’s readings? Remember, the focus here is to learn, not judge. You don’t know what it is that you don’t know until you know it, you know? 😉
Does getting psychological help or treatment have a stigma associated with it? If so, why does getting help for suicidal thoughts or feelings have a stigma attached to it? What can be done about this? What can you do about this in your own life?
After watching the clips of Kevin Hines and Mark Henick discussing their suicide attempts and subsequent thoughts about their lives, what will stay with you from the videos? What did you come to understand about suicide from listening to their stories?
