False Memory – Writing Assignment
For this assignment, you should read the False Memory Article and apply ethical principles to the information in the article.
APA (American Psychological Association) has developed five general principles of ethicthat can be used to help interpret situations and make decisions. Read over these general principles (you may have to click on “general principals” to expand the page, each principal is listed with a letter followed by the principal, “Principle A: Beneficence and Nonmaleficence,” for example.)
Guidelines:
1. Do not include information such as your name, my name, the course, the assignment, the date, etc. to take up space. This will not count towards the length of the assignment and is not needed when submitting assignments online in this class.
2. Be sure to use 12 pt, times new roman font
3. This assignment should be between 1 and 2 full pages, double-spaced.
4. You do not need a separate title or reference page, but you should put the reference as shown above at the end of your paper (it is typed out for you below, just copy and paste it over!).
5. I do NOT want to see any quotations in this summary. APA (American Psychological Association) style, particularly in psychology, uses direct quotes very sparsely, and in this case, I want to see your own understanding of the material. Since we only use one source and no quotations, I do not need to see any in-text citations for this specific assignment.
6. Be aware that your work needs to be in your own words, and I will be checking for plagiarism and the use of AI. Simply changing around the order of a few words in the sentence, or just replacing one or two using a thesaurus is still plagiarism.
Basic Instructions:
1. The first paragraph should offer a brief summary of the article
2. The second paragraph should focus on applying one APA ethical guideline to a situation in the article
3. The third paragraph should focus on applying another APA ethical guideline (not the same guideline used in paragraph 2) to a situation in article
a. In paragraphs 2 and 3, explain how the perspective applies to the situation and then consider the implications of this application (i.e., the costs and benefits, difficulties, or tensions that arise). Your evaluation will be graded on how well you understand and apply the principle and your ability to explore the implications of its application
4. The fourth paragraph should provide your thoughts and opinions of the article
5. Lastly you should put the citation for the article at the bottom of your paper (you can copy and paste it from below)
