Complete DQ 3: By Friday midnight. Create your initial post on the DQ3 Discussion Board in response to the following questions:
A thorny issue in deciding on a diagnosis of learning disorder is discovering whether the problem is internal to the child or a function of external factors such as poor teaching or inadequate schools. What information would you use to make this distinction? What criteria would you use to conclude that a child does not have a learning disorder or that the surrounding environment is to blame for a child’s academic problems? How would you address a case involving the latter situation?
How might you increase a child’s self-confidence about his/her/their schoolwork?

Create your initial post in response to the following:
The purpose of this Discussion is to practice applying your understanding of the concept of plausibility to a real-world scenario.
Watch the Youtube video below, which demonstrates a practice known as “applied kinesiology,” after viewing Lecture 05. Muscle Testing & Applied Kinesiology Demonstration 1, Austin Chiropractor
As a critical thinker considering the credibility of any claim presented to you, does this claim seem plausible to you? Consider the two questions introduced in the lecture:
1. HOW does the claimant say it works? What is this chiropractor’s explanation both for what is wrong with the girl, and how he is fixing her?
2. Does this explanation correspond with our scientific understanding of how the body works? How learning problems in kids develop and are treated?
Please write 3-4 sentences minimum (can be paragraph or list format) outlining specific thoughts about specific statements or actions demonstrated in the video that you believe are plausible or not plausible, and why you think that.
After submitting your post, return to the board and read over the posts of your fellow classmates. Choose at least ONE classmate and create a post responding to his/her initial post on the Discussion Board. In order to receive full credit, you need to return to the discussion board and add a meaningful reply to another student’s post. A meaningful reply is one that promotes the conversation through new ideas or truly thoughtful questions about the other student’s post. Simply reflecting and agreeing with another student will not earn full points.
Original post is worth up to 3 pts; response is worth up to 2 pts.
