Things That Need To Be Done:
1) Meet APA and Rubric Requirements – Rubric Is Attached Below.
2) Grammar Must Be Perfect.
3) Clean Up PowerPoints And Make Sure Each Slide has 2-3 Pictures.
4) Add More Information And Scientific Statistics To Each Slide.
5) Speaker Notes Must Be 50-75 Words.

The purpose of this assignment is to analyze the impact of neurodevelopmental disorders and specific learning disorders and identify appropriate accommodations and supports within school systems. Students will also identify their role as a school counselor or clinical mental health counselor in creating and revising individual education plans.
You will select a specific learning disability discussed in the current version of the DSM and you are to create a PowerPoint presentation about this disability. Please select a learning disability to research in depth. Create a minimum of 25-30-slide PowerPoint presentation based on your chosen learning disability. Include the following in your presentation:
Title of the assigned disability and brief description from the current DSM.
How the disability may impact a person’s education and social development in elementary through high school.
The types of interventions and supports needed to help children and adolescents with the selected learning disorder.
Discuss your role as a clinical mental health counselor or school counselor in the creation and revision of 504 and IEP plans.
Use the GCU Library and appropriate Counseling-related professional websites to locate three to five evidenced-based sources to support your content.
Detailed speaker notes that indicate what would be said if giving the presentation in person.
Refer to the resource, “Creating Effective PowerPoint Presentations,” located in the Student Success Center, for additional guidance on completing this assignment in the appropriate style.
Title slide and reference slide are not included in the slide count. Include speaker notes below each content-related slide that represent what would be said if giving the presentation in person. Expand upon the information included in the slide and do not simply restate it. Please ensure the speaker notes include a minimum of 50-75 words for each content slide.
While APA style IS required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected, and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
