Ethical Leadership and Professional Development plan. Include both positive and negative aspects of your character that emerge when you are in a position of authority.
Ethical leadership regards applying all the morals and ethical principles and theories discussed above when in a position of authority. One positive aspect of my character that emerges when I’m in a position of authority is tolerance. I have great respect for cultural diversity and always allow everyone to express his/her opinions regarding the matters that arise in the day-to-day execution of duties. I was originally born in South America and came to the United States as a little girl. Growing in New York City help me understand many different cultures and allow me to learn and embrace them. Another positive character that I have is confidentiality. I make sure to maintain all confidentiality of all information of the clients safe and secure. Veracity is another aspect I uphold with all my patients as I believe that It is my duty to always advocate for them. Finally, I like everything being done on time and organized to avoid errors.
On the other hand, my main challenge is that I sometimes can get impatient when something is not done on time. I know it can affect others that I work with as my demeanor fluctuates. My impatience has always resulted in a lot of pressure for my subjects but as I get old I am actively working to change this. I also need to learn to delegate other duties to my subjects as I have a tendency to try to cover everything I can in hopes that no errors occur. This sometimes becomes overwhelming for me.
