RESEARCH PAPER
A research paper will be required for this class. This paper will be worth 260 points and will be focus on one of the major theories discussed in the text. Your final paper topic will be due in week 4. The paper should include the following:
Your paper should research a condition or topic of interest to you in psychology and compare / contrast that topic by its biological, behavioral, psychoanalytic, humanistic, and cognitive perspectives.
The paper should be typed, double spaced, left and right margins of 1,” and 5-7 pages in length (not including cover page and supporting pages).
Each paper will contain a title page at the beginning and a references page (APA format) at the end. These pages will not be included as part of the length of the paper.
All pages should be numbered.
Your paper should contain 5 scholarly references minimum, meaning reference to the text as well as 4 other sources. Journal articles are suggested, and websites are not recommended as they are not peer reviewed. NEVER CITE WIKIPEDIA as it is not considered a viable reference tool. findarticles.comLinks to an external site. and google scholar are a couple of good sources for journal references.
The American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines, 7th Edition, should be followed. These guidelines are available online on the APA website. The website link can also be found on the course Home Page along with an APA sample paper.
Research papers MUST be uploaded into Canvas. Please note that I will be submitting your papers into the turnitin.com website, which is a plagiarism detection software. Your papers will be scanned to verify that your work is your own work and not copied or pasted. I suggest you all refresh yourself on what constitutes plagiarism as this can result in your paper receiving no points, potentially being dropped from the class, and in some cases, academic discipline by the school if repeated.
