Discussion Assignment: The purpose of the discussion responses are to demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply the course material. Therefore, you must read the text and listen to the lecture before responding to the questions. When responding to the questions, put your answers in your own words when possible and try coming up with your own examples of the concepts rather than using mine. It allows you to think about the material at a deeper level and help you understand it for the exam. If using a direct quote from the lecture/handout/text/other source, make sure to put the information in quotations and provide a APA in-text citation using the (author’s last name, year of publication) format (e.g., If you use my lecture, you might state, the definition of psychology is “the scientific study of human behavior and mental processes” (Kato, 2022)).
