Before you begin this discussion, review the “Post Graduate Career Search – It Takes Work to Find Work” presentation (7:40).
Now that you have almost completed your Bachelor of Science in Health Care Administration, it is time to prepare for your future as a healthcare leader. For this Discussion, answer the following based on your next steps:
If you are staying with your current employer:What is your next step “up the ladder” with your current employer?
What do you need to do to get there?
What is your ultimate career goal? Will you be able to reach that goal with your current employer, or will you need to move on to a different/larger employer or start your own company?
If you are looking for a new job:Where are you looking for jobs?
Have you networked with other professionals in your area? If so, where have you networked? If not, what is your plan to network with others?
How many jobs have you applied to, and what responses have you received?
Have you thought about using temporary staffing services to get your foot in the door?
Have you used the Career Network to assist with your job search?
If you are planning on going straight into another educational degree program:What degree are you starting?
What is your ultimate career goal once you have earned your next degree?
Why did you decide to start another educational degree program right away?
When looking through the list of questions, if you find others outside of your situation, or if you find that more than one of these is applicable, please answer any questions you would like to! Just make sure to answer all of the questions in your “next steps” list.
