Report Outline
Your main written assessment task for this unit is a Psychology-style empirical research report. A research report in its entirety contains 4 sections: an Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion.
Each part submission must formatted in APA (American Psychological Association) style.
Students will be provided with details of the scientific study, and data, to use in order to write up the report. You will also be provided with starter references (scientific papers to read and cite).

Most of the tutorials in this unit are focused on the research report, so these will be invaluable to you.

Academic Writer, an online tool from the APA
The MQ StudyWISE iLearn site contains lots of useful information on writing research reports (and assignments in general)

Marking Criteria
Your report will be marked against the following general criteria. A detailed marking rubric for each part submission will be provided.
The abstract is a clear, concise, summary of the report
The introduction is well structured, provides a clear overview with all of the required elements
The method is clearly presented and concise
The results section is presented appropriately and linked to the rest of the paper
The discussion is relevant, insightful and focuses on the concepts
APA style is adhered to throughout
The overall readability of the paper is high and consistent with a psychology research report
