This week students will continue brainstorming and outlining their potential program. This assignment supports the continued development of process thinking as students will carefully review and obtain a comprehensive understanding of their selected public health issue to appropriately address key issues of the selected problem.
Based on the public health issue your program is planning to address, conduct a review of the literature. Using our library resources, or other scholarly search engines, find various peer-reviewed research articles, epidemiologic research articles, case-studies.
In a three- to four-page essay, provide an overview of the topic, establish, and present your position on the issue, and provide the reader with a comprehensive look at the topic and discussions regarding the subject.
For your paper you need to have at least 5 references (not including the textbook for this course). All references are to be in APA format.
Be sure to outline your paper using the following format:
Background/Definition of your position on the issue: Include brief information/statistics (i.e., important facts to know about the disease and how it has influenced public health actions and society). Provide relevant statistics as well as how the issue relates to the health and well-being of our population. You should briefly discuss how the issue has impacted other public health issues, such as sexual health, mental health, human trafficking.
Summary of peer-reviewed article 1: Discuss and analyze important points discussed by the authors (i.e., why this is important and why we should care).
Summary of peer-reviewed article 2: Discuss and analyze important points discussed by the authors (i.e., why this is important and why we should care).
