Congratulations! You have just been awarded a huge grant (basically unlimited funding) to set up a treatment program for individuals who are diagnosed with the psychological disorder of your choice. You have the opportunity to use your vast knowledge about this disorder, your experience hearing from individuals diagnosed with this disorder, and your creativity to organize a treatment program that will help others in their recovery.
Your treatment program can be inpatient, outpatient, supervised housing, a day program – whatever you want (all of these settings are appropriate, and others have been awarded funding to set up different types of programs that you can transition your clients to if they should need a higher or lower level of care at any time). Describe your program in detail, and how your program will approach the specialized treatment of the disorder you chose. In particular, highlight at least three elements discussed in the textbook or course materials that you would incorporate into the program, and why. How will your treatment program serve its clientele based on the best available research and your unique perspective? Be creative and have fun with it!
