This activity is called “The Four Listeners” and is to be completed by your group in your Puzzling with Peers forum. You will be asked to create a short story or scene based on different types of listening. Here’s what to do:
Step 1: Refresh yourself on these listening tendencies (see Ch. 6)
Mindful listening
Literal listening
Listening to support others
Defensive listening
Monopolizing
Selective listening

Step 2: Have each peer choose a different listening tendency
To build a character around.
Step 3: Make your individual post and describe your character
Write a paragraph or two thoroughly describing who this person is and why they embody this type of listening. Bring your character to life!
