Describe, in your own words (plagiarism will result in a 50-100% score penalty and possible academic sanctions), the process by which neurons communicate with one another electrochemically. Include a detailed descriiption of how neurons receive information across the synapse, generate PSPs, and conduct action potentials. Make sure to include descriiption of the relevant anatomical structures of the neuron, the relevant ions, voltage shifts, and mechanisms by which PSPs and action potentials are generated. As described in the syllabus, there is no length or word count requirement, and more is not necessarily better. Rather, give a genuine effort, and make sure to answer all parts of the essay as instructed above.
