Being able to read and understand research studies is one of the primary goals of this course. In this activity, you will get to practice this skill by reading and summarizing key elements of a research study. This activity builds on the Module Two Activity and prepares you for Project Two, where you will critique a research study.
For this activity, 85% of your points will be allocated based on how well you answer the prompts for the following rubric criteria:
Summarizes the research study’s purpose. Describes the relevance of the publication dates of the citations referenced for the research study. Identifies the type of claim the research study makes and explains response. Describes the research method used in the research study. Describes the research study’s data collection method. Describes the research study’s sample. Describes one type of statistical analysis conducted in the research study. Describes one limitation from the research study. Describes how this research could be used in personal and professional practice.
The remaining 15% of your grade will be allocated based on your use of correct grammar, sentence structure, and spelling, as well as your use of citations for any ideas requiring attribution.
List your references in APA Style below. Remember that they should be in alphabetical order by author last name.
