It is important for students to demonstrate competence in the application of self-assessment skills to prepare them for life-long learning. Upon graduation, students should possess self-assessment skills as a foundation for maintaining competency and quality assurance. Student self-assessment helps students to assess their performance and develop specific skills needed for professional roles.
This assignment will take place during the clinical portion of the dental hygiene program. Students may use the following outline as a guide when writing their self-assessment.
Self-assessment should be written as a reflection of one’s self to include: actions, thoughts, words, demeanor, etc.

Assignment should be well-written. However, students will not be graded according to grammar, citations, etc.

Background of my progress:
-I am in my last semester of the 2 year program. I will be graduating in May. I have difficulty managing this semester is getting used to administering local anesthesia.
-I am still not sure how will apply local anesthesia in the working world where I do not have an instructor watching me during treatment.
-I have met my goals.
