Watch the correct movie.
Unseen Enemy is a feature-length documentary about the threat of epidemics in the 21st century and what we can do to fight them. Unseen Enemy addresses because in the 21st century we are experiencing a rash of diseases that were once outbreaks but have become full-blown epidemics.

In this activity, you will watch a movie related to a global public health topic and submit a 500 words short essay, double spaced correctly incorporating ≥ 5 global public health vocabulary words/terms and/or concepts and highlighting the terms by making them bold and Underlining it.

Step 1: Watch a global health movie/documentary in class (Link provided). Log in to your FIU Library account to access the documentary or click on the link above.
Step 2: Write a short essay (500 words, double-spaced, 11-point type) on what you learned, making sure to include the items listed in the grading policy below.
Note: Please do NOT recap the movie/documentary plot. Instead, apply parts of the film to what we have learned in this course so far.

The grading policy for this assignment:
10% for writing a clear, grammatically correct essay with no spelling errors.
85% for correctly incorporating ≥ 5 public health vocabulary words/terms and/or concepts highlighting the terms by making it bold and Underlining it (e.g., epi triangle, surveillance, Prevalence, Emerging Infectious disease, etc.) and explaining how it relates to the course topics we are learning in the class, what determinants we need to consider, a) prevent the emergence of the infectious diseases (e.g., personal responsibility and hygiene, proper use of antibiotics, etc.), b) prepare for the future emerging infectious diseases (e.g., stocking up on PPE, being in the ready state of vaccine or medicine development, etc.).
5% for properly naming the file and including the name at top of the typed document.
(Put your first initial and last name then an underscore or space and then the word “short essay.” Example: Adeoraj_Short Essay.docx). Submit as a Word or PDF file (No paging file please!).
You can use scientific references to create a bibliography.
