Introduction Draft, Part 1:
Demographics and epidemiology about the Community that the Project is about; include information about the city and state.
Using the PICO(T) Framework, draft a descriptive introduction that explains the PICO(T) demographics and epidemiology you have selected to research for this course.
Minimum of three paragraphs of 4-5 sentences each.

EXAMPLE:
P: Children exposed to poor outdoor air-quality diagnosed with asthma
I: Traffic mitigation efforts in urban areas, particularly around schools and parks; Medical interventions for children with asthma; Parent/child health education
C: Air pollution mitigation programs in New York and Massachusetts (Sometimes, there may not be a point of comparison.)
O: Improved respiratory function in affected children; Improved air quality; Improved management of asthma symptoms; better educated parents/children about respiratory disease
(T): Types of studies: controlled before/after studies; longitudinal study
CHP 430W is a writing intensive course and as such, the student is required to draft and submit a term paper with the following criteria. Project Paper (25% of total grade): 100 points (with YouTube video presentation for speech credit).
The student will prepare a 10-page paper with a 3000 word minimum.
The cover page, abstract, and references do not count in the 10-page requirement.
Keep 1-inch margins and appropriate spacing and font requirements (see description in syllabus).
The cover page should include the student’s name, data of submission, course title, and professor’s name.
The goal is to provide logic and reason behind your recommendations; tell me about the reasons why you are proposing a specific approach.
If you are using this course for your speech credit, you must also submit a video explaining your paper in an organized and coherent fashion. The speech should be between 5-8 minutes and include clear lighting and volume. Upload the video to YouTube and make sure the setting is on public or for viewing by those with the link (unlisted). If the video is not able to be reviewed, it will not be graded for speech credit. Provide the link to the video on your paper cover page.

Community Resources
Body of the paper must include the community resources found for the community that you conducted your research. Explain what you found – give complete information; what community resources are available, what resources are lacking. If resources are lacking, what would you recommend being done to get the needed resources?
Community Health Education and Promotion Assessment – What is the result of your assessment of the need for health promotion and health education for your selected community? How could these needs be addressed in your community?
Selection of a model or theory that best supports the community you selected for health promotion. You can select more than one.
Explain in detail what you learned from conducting this project.
References
APA format is to be used. Buy or borrow the manual, do not rely on the internet.
Ten points (10) will be deducted if your paper is not written using APA style and format.
Remember, you will use APA formatting for all your module assignments, so you will get practice and receive feedback.
Final Paper will be evaluated using the following criteria:
10 POINTS:
On time; meets minimum length of paper requirement
25 POINTS:
APA format; correct grammar and spelling
5 POINTS:
Demonstration of a well written, well researched scholarly paper, including all subheadings as cited above.
Textbook and references are cited within the text and references used.
35 POINTS:
Selection and explanation of a model or theory for health promotion.
Supports and resources in the community are described based on the assessment/research findings.
Write how each component of the selected model/theory applies to your selected community.
You can select more than one model or theory.
10 POINTS:
Reference page included in correct APA format
Shows a variety of professional references (peer-reviewed journal articles, books, etc.)
Minimum of 10 peer-reviewed articles from within the past 7 years.
References must be relevant to the project
Wikipedia is not to be used as a reference (10 points deducted)
No plagiarism – automatic F for paper and course.
