Overview
The purpose of this assignment is to explore and select tools and outcomes measures that can be used in a QI project. In the previous Gap Analysis assignment each group developed a needs assessment for their assigned case scenario. (The completed assignment is attached). For the Instrument and Metric for QI Plan Assignment, you will continue to build upon this work by selecting a psychosocial tool and discussing methodology to measure outcomes.
Knowledge and Skills to be Developed
This student will meet the following module objectives by completing this assignment:
• Identify appropriate outcome measures for analysis of a Quality Improvement project
• Select appropriate nurse sensitive outcome measures
• Propose outcome assessment strategies and evaluation methods

• Complete the Instrument & Metrics assignment.
• Using the information your group developed from the previous Gap Analysis assignment, select a psychosocial tool that can be used for measurement in your QI project. *If you are in the Children’s Hospital group, you may not use HCAHPS survey as your tool.
• Answer questions on the Instrument and Metrics template (attached). Type your answers in the text boxes for each question.
o Articles for reliability and validity may be older than 5 years. Many times this information comes from when the tool was developed.
• Include a copy of the tool you selected at the end of the document.
• This assignment should be submitted with an APA title page. A reference page and in-text citations are NOT required with this assignment.
