Phenomenon of Interest
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a chronic neurobehavioral condition characterized by inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity. ADHD is among the most frequent disorders within child and adolescent psychiatry, with a prevalence of over 5% (Drechsler et. al). The phenomenon of interest (POI) that I chose to examine this semester is ADHD diagnosis and treatment among children and adolescents. As an Advance Practice Nurse, I would advocate and educate on the importance of understanding ADHD.
