Locate a scholarly research article that contains a well elaborated literature review of prior studies. Then
you will write a 1-2 page (single-spaced) critical analysis that address the following components of the
literature and upload to the assignment file. You will also upload the journal article that you are using
for this assignment to the assignment file.
Components of the Literature Review:
Did the first sentence provide a general introduction? Identify the topic of study
.
•Was the area of interested defined/explained? Give an example of a sentence within the
introduction that explains the area of interest.
• Were there brief summarizations of the results of each study discussed with thin literature
review? Provide examples.
• Was the literature thematically organized? Identify themes used.
• Was there a logical organization of results (i.e. consistent results, inconsistent results)? Give an
example of two results that are consistent with each other. If mentioned, give an example of
inconsistent results.
• Was there a summary state statement that describes the sum of the results? If so, provide this
statement.
• Did the conclusion of the literature analyze gaps in the literature? Suggestions for future
research? Provide the gap and an example of future research direction if so.
• Was the present study’s research question explicitly stated? And was there a brief mention of
how the study would be conducted?
