Discussion Board #2Purpose: This assignment has students consider the impact of a security breach or an extended downtime on the workplace environment and the response to that occurrence.
Instructions: Students will select a topic, security, and privacy of electronic health records OR extended downtime/technology disaster and discuss why their selected topic is an issue or problem. Students will then describe the actual response to the incident or issue, address if appropriate, and suggest interventions/actions prevent the issue from reoccurring
Select a topic A OR BElectronic Security Risk/Breach in Workplaceidentify and define the issue, explain why an issue, and address its’ impact.
Discuss the ethical, HIPAA, and HITECH aspects of a security breach
Extended Downtime or technology disasterIdentify and define the issue, explain why an issue, and address its’ impact.
Discuss the issue of data security and consider how downtime/technology disaster would impact efficiency.
Based on topic (A or B) selected:describe a specific situation/incident that illustrates the issue (maybe hypothetical)
describe the response/outcome to the specific situation/incident (if hypothetical, what would have happened)
provide possible interventions and actions you suggest preventing the issue from reoccurring
Complete a minimum of two cross-posts to your peers. Your cross-posts should include integration of peers’ posts and add to the discussion with alternatives/suggestions for improvement, examples from the workplace. Ex: note one thing new your peer posted and post new (different from peer) information
Include a minimum of one scholarly, relevant reference (within five yrs.) in the initial post and one for each cross-post.
Crossposts to provide constructive, respective feedback to peers.
APA formatting of citations and references are expected for all references.
All posts have the correct spelling, grammar, and sentence structure.
