Week 2 Topic – Death with Dignity/Euthanasia
1) General topic for the reflection paper is Euthanasia (define all types) – do not just focus on the Death with Dignity Act since this is old news make sure you cover Euthanasia in general as well as PAS
You must use the template and fill it in as your assignment it can be found in the weekly assignment itself – it will guide you and make sure you got all the information required for full credit.
And this is the same one that you will use for all weekly scenario assignments from now on: (IF you do not use this and turn it in – you will receive a zero)
(THE TEMPLATE WILL BE USED FOR ALL SCENARIO REFLECTIONS STARTING WEEK 3. You must use this as your submission to get full credit and you MUST use one of the 6 acceptable ethical theories to back up your stance – they are listed in Week 1 announcement and recording and ppt)
Assignment Deadlines
A)Complete your Week 2 initial discussion prompt by Wednesday at 1159PM EST. No further posts are needed, no replies required.
B) Using the template provided in the assignment, complete and submit your Term Paper Topic by Sunday, JUNE 25th at 1159PM (it must be a currently two-sided debate with valid points on each side in order to be accepted as a topic, in other words, if you can’t find any information on the other side – if there are no valid pro/con arguments than you cannot do it on that topic). Additionally, I am not accepting papers on abortion, organ donation or euthanasia even though those would be acceptable, I want you to think outside the box here. The template must be used for this is required and attached to the assignment.
Select a topic related to medical ethics below are some you can consider, this is not the entire list (but please note Abortion, Organ Donation and Euthanasia are not on the list because they are not allowed for this paper even though they appear in the assignment directions (this is an early test to see if you even read the announcements):

Health Care Testing
Reproductive Issues (other than abortion)
Choose another with professor approval – remember it must have an ethical argument with pro/con sides – not just a disease or condition.
In a Word document template attached to the assignment, state your medical ethics issue (for instance, if you choose to write about Euthanasia(which you can’t), the medical issue might be physician-assisted suicide), and fill in the template completely.
