In Module One, you will submit your final project topic for approval and include a publish of the introduction portion of the final project (Section I). This assignment should contain an overview of the public health issue and target population you will be addressing in your final project. You should frame the impact that your selected public health issue had (or is having) on your target populations at a national and/or international level. At least two sources should be used for this assignment. This milestone provides the foundation for your entire final project. With future milestones, you will build upon the work you submit in this milestone. This milestone is graded with the Milestone One Rubric.

Overview
This milestone will require you to familiarize yourself with a current public health issue and a specific target population that is being affected. You will identify a public health problem (national or international) and describe why it is considered a public health problem. You will also describe the impact the problem is having on a specific target population (e.g., gender group, geographic location, racial or ethnic group, age group, religious group, or sexual orientation group) and explain why addressing this public health issue is a priority for improving the overall health of the target population.

What to Submit
Your milestone should be submitted as a one- to two-page Microsoft Word document with double spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, one-inch margins, and at least two sources cited in APA format.
