Sandor enjoys his job. It keeps him fit but lets his mind follow more creative avenues. Today, his thoughts stray to his daughter Reina’s fifth birthday party, just two weeks away. “A pony or a clown? Hot dogs or tacos?” he muses. Single parenting has its moments. As he is busy thinking of other things, the heavy crate slips, driving him into a squatting position that injures his thigh muscles. His cry of pain brings Janet Wilson, his supervisor, running to help.
The first aid station ices his leg to reduce swelling and pain. After the supervisor completes the incident report, Sandor is taken to the emergency room. Dr. Basra, the orthopedic specialist on call, diagnoses a tendon strain resulting in a torn left rectus femoris. A myorrhaphy is required to treat this injury. After several days in the hospital, Sandor is sent home with a Vicodin prescriiption for pain and orders for physical therapy sessions three times a week. He is not expected to return to work for at least 90 days.
AirFreight Systems receives the first report of injury and compares it with the supervisor’s incident report. Ruling: Safety Violation. No Liability. Return to work in 30 days or dismissal.

You realize this important part of facility design is your responsibility. Digging deeper into the GSA website, you analyze health care facility designs from the perspective of sustainability.
Preparation
Familiarize yourself with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Sustainable Facilities Tool website.
Using the University Library, CMS.gov, or Google Scholar, research the elements required to support the sustainability of your facility.
Assessment Deliverable
Create a 10-slide presentation to the board of directors as it relates to the facility you are designing.
Note: Continue using the facility you chose in Week 2.

Describe the strategic and appropriate floor planning.
Analyze the purpose and needs of your planned health care facility.

Social Determinants of Health Scholarly Paper (25% of final grade)

Students will choose a current or past clinical case and write a scholarly paper that describes the
relationship between a social determinant of health and a specific health outcome (e.g.,
childhood experiences and anxiety, or housing and asthma, income and obesity, etc.). Using the
Introduction-Methods-Results-And-Discussion (IMRAD) format, the paper should include a
description of the clinical case/medical issue/background, the relevant social determinant of
health that impacts the situation, methods of searching for evidence, results of that search and
any critical assessment of it, discussion recommendations for change as demonstrated by the
action/intervention of the Registered Nurse, and systemic or health policy related
recommendations. Recommendations for change and reasons why (medical and social) should be
based on three – five peer reviewed/published articles on the topic. The paper should be no more
than seven pages, not including cover page or references. A two-page Appendix will be allowed.

Write a 3-5 page report for a senior leader that communicates your evaluation of current organizational or interprofessional team performance, with respect to prescribed benchmarks set forth by government laws and policies at the local, state, and federal levels.
Use an actual dashboard from a professional practice setting for your evaluation. If you decide to use actual dashboard metrics, be sure to add a brief descriiption of the organization and setting that includes:
