  • You will continue the development of the creative brief you began in Module 1 by

You will continue the development of the creative brief you began in Module 1 by focusing on a single-minded proposition, or most important message, about the services offered by the health and wellness center.
Create a 1-2 page paper (not including the title or reference pages) in a Word document for your response.
Use APA format for the paper, title page, references page, and in-text citation.
Develop an introduction and conclusion for your paper.
    Step 1. Experience
The best way to get to know a service or product is to experience it as the client would do. Wear the boots. Use the moisturizer. Drink the smoothie. Try out the health center. What do you like? Not like? Is there a feature that stands out more than any other? That feature is the single-minded proposition or SMP, and it becomes the driving force of the creative brief and the marketing campaign.
    Step 2. Research
Many modern television commercials feature single-minded propositions. To familiarize yourself with this marketing technique, create a log of services, products, and their SMPs as you watch television. Include health and wellness organizations if possible.
    Step 3. Brainstorm
Brainstorm and write down all the best features of the health and wellness center for which you are developing the creative brief.
    Step 4. Decide on One
From the list, decide on the single-minded proposition, or most important message, about the offerings of the health and wellness center (Module 1).
    Step 5. Determine the Benefits
Determine the benefits of that one outstanding feature. Remember, clients do not purchase the membership at the health and wellness center. They are purchasing what the membership does for them – so the benefits should be stated that way. For example, the health center has a dark room where clients can exercise while watching a movie on a big screen. They improve their health while being entertained – and the time on the treadmill seems to tick by faster, better accommodating their busy schedules.
    Step 6. Draft
From the list of benefits, draft the single-minded proposition.
    Step 7. Simplify
Simplify the entire process of writing the single-minded proposition into a one-page document. In the document, briefly summarize these key points:
    Background and Summary
    Target Audience and Benefits
    Job Description (Type of Advertising)
    Goals/Objectives
Single-minded proposition, or most important message
    Ad from Step 8
Make sure the one-page is creatively written and concise. You may use visuals. NOTE: All the research (Modules 1-3) completed in the process of arriving at this one page becomes supporting documentation for submission in Module 4. Submit only the 1 to 2-page document in Module 3.
    Digital Learning Connections icon
    Step 8. Experiment
Try out the single-minded proposition as the main headline for an ad you design for the health and wellness center. Include the ad or a link to the ad in the single-page document, depending on your chosen delivery method (Step 5).
    Step 9. Submit
Submit your final document. Be sure to include a title page and references page using APA format.

You are employed as an assistant in the department of the Community Outreach at the St Bede Catholic Hospital. You boss tells you that the hospital administrators want to start a clinic to care for the mothers and children of newly arrived immigrants who have arrived in your city. These mothers and children have no insurance so the hospital would like to set up a clinic with the mission to provide healthcare for the mothers and children, ONLY! This care would be transitional care until the undocumented mothers move to their permanent home awaiting their immigration hearings.
Your job is to identify the providers and professionals that will be needed to staff the clinic and provide care that is effective, efficient, and cost effective.
    For this assignment:
    • Using the providers (dentist, pharmacist and doctoral health professionals, nurses, and not physician practitioners) Identify and describe the providers and professionals that would be needed to provide healthcare to these mothers and children?
    • For each provider and professional that you identify, describe IN DETAIL why that provider or professional is needed for this clinic.
    • Present material in a grammatically correct and scholarly matter

  • Examine the literary movement and specific work in relation to historical and political influences of the movement.

Minimum of 1 scholarly source (in addition to the textbook – for historical/political influences)
Minimum of 2 sources cited (assigned readings/online lessons and an outside source)
APA format for in-text citations and list of references
Choose one of the literary movements that you read about this week and at least one work from that movement. Movements, authors, and famous works are discussed in the lesson as well. You do not have to choose authors or works discussed in the lesson, but you may. For your initial post, address one of the following:
Option 1: Examine the literary movement and specific work in relation to historical and political influences of the movement. Include a one paragraph summary of the plot before moving on to the examination of the work in relation to the movement.
Option 2: Examine a specific artwork influenced by a literary work and how the artist captured the subject or story. Discuss how the art piece reflects themes that defined the literary movement. Here are a few examples, but you are not restricted to this list:
Asher B. Durand’s Thanatopsis (influenced by William Cullen Bryant’s “Thanatopsis”)
John William Waterhouse’s The Lady of Shalott (influenced by Alfred, Lord Tennyson’s “The Lady of Shalott”)
Sir John Everett Millais’s Ophelia (influenced by Shakespeare’s Ophelia from Hamlet)
Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s Apollo and Daphne or The Rape of Prosperina (influenced by ancient myths)
Ancient Greek vase painting (influenced by various ancient myths)

    ANSWER
Option 1: Examine the literary movement and specific work in relation to historical and political influences of the movement.

The literary movement I have chosen to examine is Romanticism, and the specific work within this movement is Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Romanticism, which emerged in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, was a response to the Industrial Revolution and the Enlightenment era’s rationalism. It emphasized emotion, imagination, individualism, and a deep connection with nature.

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is a short story set in a Dutch settlement in New York’s Hudson Valley. It tells the tale of Ichabod Crane, a schoolteacher with an overactive imagination, who encounters the legendary ghostly figure known as the Headless Horseman. Irving’s work is deeply rooted in the historical and political context of its time.

During the early 19th century, the United States was still a young nation grappling with its identity. The Romantic movement sought to break away from European literary traditions and create a distinctly American literary voice. “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” accomplishes this by drawing on American folklore and local legends, such as the spooky tales of the Hudson Valley.

Moreover, the story reflects the Romantic fascination with the supernatural and the unknown. In a period marked by scientific advancements and industrialization, Romantic writers sought to reconnect with the mysterious and the unexplainable. Irving’s portrayal of the Headless Horseman embodies this fascination, as it is a supernatural entity that defies rational explanation.

Additionally, the story’s setting in a pastoral, idyllic village reflects the Romantic idealization of nature and rural life. Irving’s vivid descriptions of the Dutch countryside and the autumn landscape capture the beauty and awe-inspiring qualities of the natural world.

In conclusion, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” by Washington Irving exemplifies the Romantic literary movement’s emphasis on imagination, emotion, and a connection with nature. It draws from American folklore and local legends, reflecting the historical and political context of early 19th-century America as the nation sought to establish its own literary identity.
