Each unit starting with Week 4 includes a relevant journal article. These articles are optional, but can be reviewed for extra credit. Read the article, then write and submit a 2-3 page, approximately 800-1000 word, double-spaced and formally written Article Review, using the attached Journal Article Review resources and rubric as a guide. Be sure to include a title page and reference with your submission.
Note that a Journal Article Review is NOT simply a summary of the article, but also includes the following components:

    2. Why is it important to investigate or examine the subject of the article?
    3. How are the authors carrying out the task? Are their methods and comments appropriate and adequate to the task?
    4. What do they claim to have found out? Are the findings clearly stated?
    5. How does this advance knowledge in the field?
Your Journal Article Review will be evaluated for:
    appropriate article selection,
    appropriate style,
a discussion of major points presented in the article,
    clearly and articulate writing,
a well organized discussion of the major points,
and your thoughts, opinions and what you learned from the article.
Use the Journal Article Review grading rubric as a guide to make sure that you are meeting the expected requirements.

Prompt 1: The outbreak of the novel H1N1 flu virus in 2009 caused widespread anxiety throughout the world. However, the incidence of this flu was lower than anticipated. You may read more about H1N1 and its progress at http://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/cdcresponse.htmLinks to an external site..
Briefly describe the time line of this outbreak and the ways in which it was investigated. Discuss why you think the incidence was low. Include the human and environmental factors that could have contributed. Be sure to support your opinions with scholarly evidence from your readings.

    Analysis Exercise:
Policy analysis is the process of engaging in argumentation and debate to create, assess, and communicate plausibly true beliefs about certain policies. Knowledge claims are created and communicated to present these beliefs and to convince others that the information provided is sufficient and necessary to justify the proposed action called for in the policy claim.
The structural model of the argument can help you to see the various competing beliefs and messages that have gone into creating the policy claim.
Policies have 5 elements: information (I), claim (C), warrant (W), backing (B), and rebuttal (R).

Analyze the problem that is being addressed by answering the following questions:
1-What is the problem and is it a state or federal-level problem?
    2-Who are the stakeholders?
    3-What is the policy environment?
4-Who will benefit by addressing the problem, and who will pay the cost?
5-What action is being proposed by the legislation?
6-Has any similar legislation been enacted before, or has this issue been addressed in the past with differing consequences?
7-What are your assumptions of the expected outcome and how can the results be evaluated?

Please write a 450 word discussion post reply to the following post, Must have two peer reviewed scholarly sources AND one biblical integration. Textbook is here: Berkowitz, E. N. (2017). The post you will reply to is here: The success of after-hours clinics and urgent care facilities in many metropolitan areas
For the purposes of this post, I will be analyzing the environment factors and making suggestions from a marketing perspective in regards to an in-company clinic and after-hours clinic and urgent care facilities. There are five major environmental forces that include social, competitive, economic, regulatory and economic (Berkowitz, 2017). In order to properly analyze environmental factors and appropriately implement good practices, an environmental scan should first occur. After the scan, trends should be assessed and the impact on the target market should be analyzed.
In-company clinics is an interesting concept that I think could potentially be seen more in the coming years. The following has been said about having such options, “these clinics allow employers to offer convenient care to employees at their workplaces, which can lead to reduced healthcare expenditure and improved productivity” (Song et al., 2022). One factor to take into consideration when looking at an option such as this is economic. There is a high probability that the upfront costs would be considerably high. However, the payoff may be worth it. It would rely upon social factors of the employees such as demographics, culture, attitudes of patients, etc… It would be my understanding that a company setting up an in-company clinic could make that quite competitive. Toyta Motors for example, has seen some success with their on-site clinic in San Antonio, Texas.
While analyzing the second portion of the prompt, it became evident that there can be extensive benefits to having access to after-hours clinics in metropolitan areas. The first benefit is probably the most obvious, there is a significant increase to access to care. According to the textbook, there has been a 46 percent decline in the number of hospitals in 52 major US cities in 2010 (Berkowitz, 2017). Another benefit is that it can free up Emergency Departments by getting patients to an appropriate level of care. This in return can lead to cost savings. In a study conducted in Canada, it was found that having after-hours clinic had “an average net annual cost saving of CA$428,588” (Moe et al., 2019). It is also suggested that healthcare administrators consider pros and cons to after-hours clinics. As a healthcare administrator tasked to consider the pros and cons of this scenario, it’s important to understand social factors of the population to include consumer demographics.
The Lord wants us to glorify Him in all we do. For health care professionals, this may entail being accessible and providing care to our patients. The Bible tells us, “If you will diligently listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and do that which is right in his eyes, and give ear to his commandments and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you that I put on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, your healer” (Exodus 15:26, English Standard Version). Healthcare administrators may be tasked to evaluate situations such as the two presented in this post. When this occurs, the end goal should be delivering the best patient care to those within our network.

Refer to the Metropolis Health System (MHS) balance sheet and statement of revenue and expense in the MHS Case Study appearing in Chapter 33. Patient accounts receivable of $7,400,000 is shown as net of $1,300,000 allowance for bad debts (8,700,000 – 1,300,000 = 7,400,000). (1) What percentage of gross accounts receivable is the allowance for bad debts? (2) If the allowance for bad debts is raised to $1,500,000, where does the extra $200,000 go?

The Dynamic Deliverable is the implementation (or proof of implementation) of students’ proposed solution. Previously submitted Dynamic Deliverables include, but are not limited to, websites students developed about their chosen themes, paintings, and a screenshot of the submission to the CDC of a student’s proposal. In the case of the student referenced in the Final Project Product Proposal as an example, for his dynamic deliverable, he submitted an image of his own painting of a melting earth due to climate change.
The “deliverable(s)” you create will mirror (to some extent) the types of materials your professor will utilize in the course to deliver content in diverse ways—to foster interest & problem/trend/issue analysis, provide additional context, and appeal to varying learning styles, abilities, and preferences of students en route to global awareness, perspective taking, & global engagement.
The Dynamic Deliverable may consist of student-created, original items such as, but not limited to:
    Podcasts/Recorded Interview
    TED (style) Talk/Speech (video recorded)
    Poetry Series Composition
    Music Composition & Performance
White-paper for Recommended Policy Change to Those in Power
Public Service Announcement Poster Series/Video Commercial
    Product Prototype
    Original Photography
    Narrative Short Story
    Targeted Program Development/Service Delivery Model

The professor will place students in groups of 2 or 3 (3 only if needed) during week 3. Students should use the attached form to evaluate each other’s “publish” proposal. By reviewing other’s work:
The evaluator noticed opportunities for improvement in their own output.
Valuable input can be provided from another third party prior to the professor’s review (decreasing the chance of points being deducted).
Familiarize oneself with the grading criteria.
. When uploading the peer-to-peer evaluation form, be sure to include the actual work that was given for you to review. The peer-to-peer evaluation is worth 40 points and cannot be submitted late. The person being evaluated will not lose any points if the group member does complete this assignment.
