Week Three: Facility Planning—Floor Plan, Part 1
The construction of evidence-based health care facilities includes careful planning and layout as well as considerations for the health of the population to be served. Evidence-based health care facilities planning also needs input from a cross-functional team of informed stakeholders and the integration of best practices in modern design and regulatory requirements.
This week you will focus on your facility’s structure and the areas contained within it. Next week you will add assets to your facility.
Create a floorplan that includes at least 3 to 5 distinct areas or rooms. You will be responsible for adding environmental design elements each week. Your final floor plan is due in Week 5.
Note: You are not expected to manually draw all elements of your design. Using images, clipart, graphics, icons, symbols, or any other visual tools in your design is acceptable.

Overview
In this activity, you will have the opportunity to examine how using critical analysis tools influences your interactions with others. You will also consider how the analysis of your topic might have turned out differently if you looked at it through a different lens. Completing this activity will result in a draft of the reflection section of your project. It also provides an opportunity to obtain valuable feedback from your instructor that you can incorporate into your project submission.
Directions
In this activity, you will work on the second part of the reflection section of your project. You should consider the feedback from your instructor on the previous activities to inform this assignment. Include diverse perspectives from varied sources to support your points. Look to the SNHU Shapiro Library for assistance and consider the sources you have used thus far to support your research. First, you will explain how the analysis of your topic in wellness may have been different if you had used one of the other general education lenses. Then you will explain how critically analyzing wellness affects your interactions with various people.
You are not required to address each item below the rubric criteria, but you may use them to better understand the criteria and guide your thinking and writing.
Specifically, you must address the following rubric criteria:
Integrate reliable evidence from varied sources throughout your paper to support your analysis.
It is important to draw from a more diverse pool of perspectives from varied sources to support the analysis. This is different from the Citations and Attributions rubric criterion.
Reliable evidence from varied sources should be interwoven throughout the paper itself, while citing and attributing sources will be represented as APA in-text citations and a reference list at the end of your work.
You will be evaluated on both criteria.
Explain at least one way in which your analysis might have been different if you had used one of the other general education lenses to analyze your topic.
This should be a brief (3–5 sentences) reflection about how using the language and perspective from a different lens would shift your view of your topic.
Explain how analyzing wellness can help interactions with people with a different viewpoints, cultures, or perspectives.
Think about ways in which a greater awareness of wellness strengthens individual conversations. Consider including an example from your life.

In this discussion, begin by introducing yourself to the class and share your background. Discuss why you are pursuing a degree in public health and what your plans are following graduation.
Next, review the shortlist of resources included in the Public Health Issue Data Checklist PDF and the example public health organization and issues for potential exploration in your final project. In choosing an organization, be sure that it relates to the particular community (preferably your own) that you have chosen and that you can contact someone within the organization. You will be required to describe the organization and the policy or program you chose to evaluate in Milestone One, with supporting evidence. Thus, you are expected to spend the next two weeks locating and reviewing data sources for your evaluation.
In your initial post, address the following:
Identify the community you live in or one you wish to work with.
Describe two to three organizations that you are interested in investigating within your chosen community. Remember that you will need to contact the organization to set up a meeting to interview an administrator for your journal in Module Two. You may want to reach two or three organizations to be sure one gets back to you in a timely fashion
Provide a set of resources that provide data and other information on at least two organizations and the issues they address. Identify the location of data and a description of what kind of data it contains. For example, if you choose your local food bank, then you would want to locate data on:
Food insecurity in your community, percentage of food insecurity, demographics of the community (age distribution, location of grocery stores, cost, etc.)
