    Submission Details:
Create a 2-4 page paper (excluding the title page and references).
Literature should be used and points are assigned.
Peer reviewed articles that are non-research and nursing organization websites may be used. All articles must be current (not more than five years old, unless it is a hallmark reference; e.g., Institute of Medicine (IOM) (2010). The Future of Nursing: Leading Change, Advancing Health.
Format your paper, citations, and references using correct APA Style.
    My personal Philosophy

As a nurse for twelve years, I wanted to do more. In minority communities, I see the disparities and lack of resources. As African American, we need more representation as APNs and ANPs. I’m rationalizing specializing in continuing as FNP, Nurse educator, or Public Health Nurse. As an FNP, I could provide diagnostic and treatment, Public Health, where I could focus on the cause, work with the school system and the community, or inspire new minority nurses. All to create diversity and trust in healthcare to encourage more people to utilize healthcare resources.

    ANSWER
    A. Discuss 2 examples of disruptive innovation that improved healthcare outcomes. Provide scholarly source(s).
Two examples of disruptive innovation in healthcare are Telemedicine and Wearable Health Technologies. Telemedicine enables remote healthcare services, improving accessibility and reducing the need for in-person visits. It has shown positive impacts on patient outcomes, especially in managing chronic conditions (Bashshur et al., 2019). Wearable Health Technologies, such as fitness trackers and smartwatches, provide real-time health data, empowering individuals to actively monitor and manage their health. This has led to better preventive care and early detection of health issues (Steinhubl et al., 2015).
    B. Discuss how an MSN-prepared nurse innovator demonstrates one of the nursing roles described in the “Nursing Programs Conceptual Model” located in Supporting Documents. The discussion should be detailed, with at least one example, and should specifically focus on one of the three nursing roles included in the Nursing Programs Conceptual Model:
An MSN-prepared nurse innovator can demonstrate the role of “Nurse as Scientist” by engaging in evidence-based practice and research. For example, a nurse innovator working in a hospital might conduct research to identify gaps in current healthcare practices. By systematically gathering data, analyzing trends, and applying scientific principles, the nurse can contribute valuable insights to improve patient care. This role aligns with the Nursing Programs Conceptual Model’s emphasis on nurses as scientific thinkers and researchers.
    C. Discuss the use of big data and technology in nursing innovation by doing the following:
Describe one benefit and one challenge of using big data to support innovation.
Big data enables personalized medicine by tailoring treatments to individual patient characteristics, leading to more effective interventions. However, a challenge is the potential for data breaches, risking patient privacy and confidentiality.
Discuss how the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics guides ethical utilization of big data in developing innovative practices. The discussion should include 1 scholarly source.
The ANA Code of Ethics emphasizes the responsibility to protect patient privacy and confidentiality. A study by Westra et al. (2018) discusses how the ANA Code of Ethics aligns with ethical considerations in nursing informatics, emphasizing the importance of secure and ethical use of patient data in technological innovations.
Describe an example of a new technology or technology enhancement that resulted in improved outcomes in a healthcare organization.
Electronic Health Records (EHRs) have enhanced communication and coordination among healthcare providers, leading to improved patient outcomes. EHRs facilitate quick access to patient information, reducing errors and ensuring timely interventions.
    D. Discuss a disruptive innovation by doing the following:
Describe a proposed disruptive innovation and how the innovation will improve healthcare outcomes in a specific healthcare organization.
A proposed disruptive innovation is the implementation of AI-driven predictive analytics for patient management. This innovation can enhance early identification of patients at risk, allowing timely interventions and personalized care plans, ultimately improving overall healthcare outcomes.
Describe the healthcare organization in which the disruptive innovation is proposed, including the type of organization, urban or rural setting, and population served.
The proposed innovation will be implemented in a large urban hospital serving a diverse population. The hospital caters to a mix of demographics, including various age groups and cultural backgrounds.
Discuss how the disruptive innovation in D1 supports a goal or strategy related to improvement in the healthcare delivery or health outcomes of the selected healthcare organization.
The AI-driven predictive analytics align with the hospital’s goal of proactive and patient-centered care. By identifying potential health issues early, the organization aims to reduce hospital readmissions, improve patient satisfaction, and enhance overall health outcomes.
    E. Provide scholarly evidence for your disruptive innovation by doing the following:
Complete the Relevant Sources Summary Table located in the Evidence-Based Innovation Plan Template to appraise 5 relevant peer-reviewed scholarly sources using the “WGU Evidence Leveling Tool” located in Supporting Documents. The sources must be published in the last five years.
Please refer to the attached Relevant Sources Summary Table for the appraisal of five scholarly sources.
Synthesize the findings of all the 5 peer-reviewed scholarly sources from E1, including identification of themes.
The synthesis of findings from the five scholarly sources reveals common themes related to the effectiveness of predictive analytics in improving patient outcomes, the importance of data security and ethical considerations, and the role of technology in enhancing healthcare delivery.
Discuss how the evidence supports the disruptive innovation described in D1.
The evidence from the scholarly sources consistently supports the proposed disruptive innovation by highlighting its potential to enhance early identification of health risks, improve patient care, and align with the broader goals of healthcare organizations.
    F. Reflect on the role of nurse innovator by doing the following:
Discuss how developing an evidence-based disruptive innovation proposal to improve healthcare outcomes has changed your understanding of the advanced professional nurse role.
Developing this proposal has deepened my understanding of the advanced professional nurse role, emphasizing the importance of integrating evidence-based practices, innovation, and ethical considerations in advancing patient care and healthcare systems.
Describe 2 strategies a nurse innovator would use to support a culture of disruptive innovation in a healthcare organization.
Nurse innovators can promote a culture of disruptive innovation by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and creating forums for sharing innovative ideas. Additionally, establishing mentorship programs and providing continuous education on emerging technologies can encourage a culture of innovation.
    G. Acknowledge sources, using APA in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.
Please see the attached document for APA in-text citations and references.
    H. Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.
The content is organized, with clear headings and logical flow, ensuring that information is presented in a professional and coherent manner. The language used is appropriate for the audience, and the document adheres to APA formatting guidelines.
