A premise of epidemiology is that health outcomes are not random occurrences within a population but are linked to particular risk factors and diseases. Epidemiologists utilize a range of study design methods to evaluate evidence-based associations to understand and improve health outcomes.
The purpose of this assignment is to compare the different types of study designs used in public health research. Use the “Study Design Comparison Worksheet” to complete this assignment. You will be able to use this as a reference throughout the program.
This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
APA style is not required, but solid academic writing is expected.

please comment to each post and ask each a question 1) A deep vein thrombosis is a blood clot that forms in a major vein, most commonly in the lower body (Martini et al., 2017). Deep vein thrombosis can develop by reduced circulation of blood flow leading to venous stasis. This can happen as an outcome of extended paralysis or venous contraction, causing blood flow to become unsteady and buildup forming between blood cells. Deep vein thrombosis can afterwards progress to pulmonary embolism as the clot can become loose and travel as an embolus to the lungs, where it can cause respiratory problems or failure (Martini et al., 2017). As seen by Samantha’s for instance she had established a blood clot in her legs, which would eventually move to her lungs through the vein and restrict her breathing. In addition to the weakened respiratory system, oxygen and blood are unable to circulate freely, which produces an increase in blood pressure and problems breathing.
Deep vein thrombosis treatments would have a primary goal of preventing clots from developing or occurring at all. Treatments might be given based on whether the DVT is acute or chronic. Acute DVT can be treated with medicine, an IVC filter, or DVT thrombolysis, however persistent DVT requires angioplasty and the placement of stents to unblock blocked veins (Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Treatment, n.d.).
2.) DVT is a medical condition that occurs when a blood clot is is formed deep inside a vein usually in the leg or thigh. In Samantha’s case she had a knee surgery and it led to DVT, which is an acute venous obstruction secondary to a thrombus which is a blood clot that is formed in the blood vessel. In the video she kept coughing and had a shortness of breath because that blood clot that she had on her leg travelled from the veins up to her chest causing low oxygen levels to her lungs (pulmonary embolism) and low blood pressure. PE has also occurred because since she had a blood clot, that piece of clot can break and travel to the circulatory system and create an obstruction in the pulmonary system..which is PE. Some treatments that can be used for this is a D dimer blood test, Duplex ultrasound, Venography, and an MRI scan.

You are a family nurse practitioner employed in a busy primary care office. The providers in the group include one physician and three nurse practitioners. The back office staff includes eight medical assistants who assist with patient care as well as filing, answering calls from patients, processing laboratory results and taking prescriiption renewal requests from patients and pharmacies. Stephanie, a medical assistant, has worked in the practice for 10 years and is very proficient at her job. She knows almost every patient in the practice, and has an excellent rapport with all of the providers.
Mrs. Smith was seen today in the office for an annual physical. Her last appointment was a year ago for the same reason. During this visit, Mrs. Smith brought an empty bottle of amoxicillin with her and asked if she could have a refill. You noted the patient’s name on the label, and the date on the bottle was 1 week ago. You also noted your name printed on the label as the Advance Practice Nurse Practitioner or prescriber. The patient admitted that she called last week concerned about her cough and spoke to Stephanie. You do not recall having discussed this patient with Stephanie nor do the other providers in the practice.

Review of a Bill Assignment
Select an active bill at the state or federal level that impacts the professional practice of nursing. In a 3-4 page paper (excluding the title and reference pages), summarize the provisions of the bill and clearly explain what the bill will accomplish. The paper should be no more than 4 pages, typed in Times New Roman using 12-point font, and double-spaced with 1″ margins.
Your review of a bill paper should:
Discuss the major provisions of the bill.
Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the legislation by explaining the background and all relevant facts.
Discuss any relevant history related to the legislation, pertinent votes, and issues that are stalling the legislation, etc.
Use primary sources for this information.
Identify key supporters and those who do not support the bill. Explain why some of these individuals support the bill and why some do not.
Explore the positions of the key stakeholders in the bill, both pros and cons. Do not make assumptions about potential key stakeholders. Examine this area carefully so you are correctly reflecting the stakeholders positions.
Discuss how the bill would impact a nurse’s ability to provide safe and quality care or to practice to the highest scope of the nursing license.
Explain specific actions that nurses can take to assist with the passage or defeat of the legislation
Use Current APA Style, headings and references as appropriate.
