Your task this week is to chart the four main approaches to leadership that you reviewed this week.
Create a chart that includes a 2×2 table that compares the Trait Approach, the Skills Approach, the Behavioral Approach, and the Situational Approach to leadership. Be sure to identify where these approaches overlap and where they diverse.
After creating your table, pick which leadership approach you think is best for understanding leadership in the workplace, and write a discussion that defends your position using this week’s readings and at least two additional resources from the NCU library. The goal of this activity is to demonstrate that you understand the importance of considering both differences and similarities when comparing human behavior or psychological processes.
Step 1. Watch this excerpt (15 min) of the documentary “Babies” (click on the link). This documentary simultaneously follows four babies around the world – from birth to first steps. The children are: Ponijao, who lives with her family near Opuwo, Namibia; Bayarjargal, who resides with his family in Mongolia, near Bayanchandmani; Mari, who lives with her family in Tokyo, Japan; and Hattie, who resides with her family in the United States, in San Francisco. The video is a collage of several scenes from this documentary.
Step 2. In the discussion board, share your thoughts regarding both the differences and similarities in the experiences and reactions of these children. Try to highlight the fact that some observations point to cultural differences in the lives of these children. At the same time, note that there are commonalities in their development, pointing to more universal phenomena.
Your initial post to the discussion question must be a thoughtful response to this prompt provided. A 200-word minimum is required for the initial response [worth a maximum of 7 pts]. Professional language and writing are required. Connect your response back to the video, citing the evidence to support your position wherever possible.
Step 3. You are expected to read posts in the discussions and to actively participate in the conversations, posting a minimum of one thoughtful reply(more if you want to) back to other students [worth a maximum of 3 pts]. Your replies to other student’s posts are to be thoughtful responses that seek to further knowledge and understanding. Such replies as “nice post” or “ditto” are not thoughtful replies. Instead your replies should, for example, explain why you agree or disagree with a previous post, ask a probing question, clarify a statement, share your own experiences, support or refute a statement with evidence, and always be constructive and respectful.

For this Discussion Board, complete the following steps:
In your own words, briefly define Cognitive Dissonance, Attitudes, and Persuasion.
Answer the question about bullying (“Is bullying preventable?”). Use these terms (and any others in this chapter) to explain the behavior, and if it can be addressed, or not. Give an example of how it can be addressed or why not according to a social psychologists (i.e. Asch, Milgram, Bandura, Zimbardo, etc).
Review the submissions of at least 3 peers. How does your answer compare? Be sure to leave a question and insight for each peer whose work you choose to review.

Consider a behavior that you would like to teach someone. This could be a friend, a child, a co-worker, etc. Describe the behavior and select one of the learning theories we learned about this week (i.e. observational learning, operant conditioning, classical conditioning, etc…) as the framework for how you would teach the person that behavior. Although in real life you may use more than one of these theories to teach behavior, for the purposes of this academic exercise choose ONLY ONE theory. Explain how you would ensure they have learned the behavior and why you felt that approach would work best for the particular behavior and setting. What challenges do you encounter to the learning process using your planned approach?
Answers need to cover these questions and elaborate on key terms/concepts reviewed in the lesson this week. Replies can introduce new/different perspectives and must encourage the continuation of the discussion.

Social Thinking examines how we define the self and make judgments about other people. Reflect on the self:

Social Influence investigates areas such as conformity, prejudice, and persuasion. Recall a time when you were influenced or pressured to do something you did not agree with:

Social Behaviors explore helping, aggression, romantic relationships, etc. Consider a time when you witnessed a situation (i.e., fight, car wreck, etc.) where you could have intervened but did not:
