Job analysis refers to the processes Industrial and Organizational Psychology professionals use to understand the nature, tasks, and requirements of a job. Industrial and Organizational professionals use a variety of data collection techniques and methods to learn about jobs. For example, they conduct interviews, administer surveys to employees, and observe employees performing the job. They employ methods such as conducting task analysis, applying the critical incidents technique, and consulting with the Occupational Information Network (O*NET). It is important to understand the options available for job analysis and the strengths and limitations of each approach.

For this assignment, you will conduct a review of the existing literature and summarize the findings. You will evaluate a minimum of six scholarly, peer-reviewed (English language) research articles and identify for all six what has already been done in this area, what gaps exist in the current literature, any ethical considerations for conducting research in this area, and any issues of validity or reliability. This assignment should synthesize the current literature and then build a foundation for your own, quantitative, research proposal.
