Prompt 1: List and describe at least FIVE (5) key concepts or take-aways from the module’s readings.
Prompt 2: Describe at least THREE (3) specific ways you can apply those key concepts/takeaways to your personal life and/or in your professional practice.
    Prompt 3: Create THREE (3) scenario-based multiple-choice questions based on the module’s chapter readings(s)
a scenario-based question typically involves a scenario followed by a question related to that scenario; for example, “Tyger pushed the elevator button 5 times in a row. The next time he pushed the elevator button, the elevator doors immediately opened. The next time Tyger was at an elevator, he proceeded to press the button 6 times, then waited for the door to open. Which statement below best describes this behavioral contingency?”
each multiple-choice question must have at least 4 answer choices; for example:
    Tyger’s behavior was punished.
    Tyger’s behavior was rule-governed.
Tyger’s behavior was reinforced on an FR-5 schedule of reinforcement.
Tyger’s behavior was reinforced on an FR-6 schedule of reinforcement.
True or false, matching, or open-ended questions ARE NOT multiple-choice questions!
DO NOT provide the correct answer in your initial post until at least 3 classmates have answered it or until Sunday, whichever comes first.

    Part 1
    Introduction
The introduction serves to engage the reader by discussing the overall research topic and background information of your proposed study. A good introduction should describe the broad foundations of your study and indicate the general scope of your study but should not go into so much detail that later sections such as the purpose, problem, and methodology become irrelevant. The introduction can also provide an overview of the sections that will appear in Part 1.
    Problem Statement
This section must clearly identify the problem that will be studied. Include the phrase “The problem is…” to allow the reader to distinguish the issue driving the study. The problem must be supported with appropriate citations to show the existence of a problem. A researchable problem is not simply a gap in the literature or a lack of information; a research problem is a documented existing social issue for which there is not a known solution or an effective solution. Provide sufficient background information to give readers a grasp of the situation and its importance. Your discussion should reflect why the research problem is of important social concern or theoretical interest.
    Purpose of the Study
This section should identify why the study you are proposing is needed and concisely explain the focus of your study. The purpose will likely relate to limitations identified in previous studies (you may find this information within the discussion of a previous study). Begin this section with the method and design you have selected and provide a clear statement of the research objectives of your study. Provide a brief descriiption of the means through which the goals of your study will be achieved and the geographic location of the study.
    • When conducting a case study, which requires multiple sources of data, ensure that those sources are identified.
    • For quantitative or mixed method designs, include the study variables and instruments to be used to collect the data.
    Literature Review
Provide readers with a review of most relevant literature, beginning with general information and narrowing in focus to the specific issues under consideration in the study. You can include subheadings to delineate between various current content topics. It is important to synthesize the sources—compare and contrast the various perspectives on each topic. It is important to describe all perspectives of each research topic including any controversial literature rather than presenting only literature that supports your own perspective in order to create credibility.
Cite and reference 10 scholarly peer-reviewed sources supporting your study. Focus on reviewing prior research published in scientific journals; do not integrate information from websites or Wikipedia.
    Research Questions/Hypotheses
(Only include “research questions” or “hypotheses” in the heading as applicable)
In this section you will state your research questions or hypotheses, as appropriate. List these questions/hypotheses as simple statements. Make sure they are measurable and numbered.
    • Qualitative studies require at least 2 research questions and typically include about 4.
    • For quantitative studies include at least 2 sets of hypotheses.
    Definition of Terms
Operationally define variables that will be the focus of the study. Support your definitions with citations.
    Section Summary
Summarize the key points presented in Part 1, provide supporting citations, and transition to the next part of the study.

  • Find a valid and credible source about stress management that you find interest

Find a valid and credible source about stress management that you find interesting and that can positively affect your life and health. This will probably be online, but it does not have to be. Valid sources often come from .edu, .org, and .gov websites. Sometimes .com sites are fine, but you must make sure the source is a valid one to use for this assignment. Ask me if you need help with this.
    1. Provide the source title, a working link to it (the URL), and a brief description of it in your own words. Make sure the link goes directly to the page you are referencing and not a general website.
    2. Then, explain how it relates to your life and how it can make you happier and/or healthier. Do not just repeat back information from the source and/or textbook! Speak from the heart here and tell me how the source can make your life better.
Your answer should be 2-3 paragraphs, or enough to thoroughly answer the question. Be as specific as possible and use your own ideas and examples when necessary.

  • Critically analyse the strategies of the CEO Regis Schultz and the performance of JD Sports

You are a Senior Manager of JD Sports Fashion Group. The board of directors have asked you to evaluate the following within the company:
    Organisational Culture
    Organisational Structure
    Leadership and
    Motivation
Critically analyse the strategies of the CEO Regis Schultz and the performance of JD Sports. State whether is it due to the current culture, structure, leadership or lack of motivation in that organisation? As a Senior Manager in this organisation, what changes would you make to improve the performance of the organisation? Justify your recommendations. Use appropriate examples and literature to justify your stand. Use a Change Management model and apply it to make the necessary changes in the organisation.

    ANSWER
As a Senior Manager of JD Sports Fashion Group, evaluating organizational culture, structure, leadership, and motivation is essential to understand the current performance and identify areas for improvement. Let’s analyze the strategies of CEO Regis Schultz and JD Sports’ performance in relation to these aspects and propose necessary changes:

    **1. Organizational Culture:**
    – JD Sports has a strong performance-oriented and competitive culture. This culture aligns with the company’s strategy of rapid expansion and market dominance.
    – The culture promotes a high-performance work environment, but it may also lead to stress and burnout, affecting employee motivation.

    **2. Organizational Structure:**
    – JD Sports has a decentralized organizational structure, with various brands and subsidiaries operating semi-independently.
    – This structure facilitates agility and adaptability but may result in a lack of consistency in processes and decision-making.

    **3. Leadership:**
    – CEO Regis Schultz has played a significant role in the company’s global expansion and success.
    – The leadership is characterized by a focus on growth and market dominance.

    **4. Motivation:**
    – Employee motivation is primarily driven by performance-based incentives, recognition, and a competitive atmosphere.
    – However, the intense focus on performance may lead to burnout, especially among frontline staff.

    **Analysis:**
JD Sports’ success is primarily attributed to its performance-oriented culture, aggressive expansion strategy, and strong leadership. However, this success comes at a cost – high employee turnover, potential burnout, and a need for more consistency in the organization’s processes.

    **Recommendations:**

    **1. Cultural Evolution:**
    – Introduce a more balanced organizational culture that values work-life balance, employee well-being, and diversity and inclusion. Implement flexible work policies to reduce burnout.

    **2. Restructuring for Consistency:**
    – Consider a more centralized approach in certain functions (e.g., HR, finance) to ensure consistency and alignment with the company’s core values and standards.

    **3. Leadership Development:**
    – Invest in leadership development programs that focus on transformational leadership, emphasizing inspiration, empowerment, and team development. This will encourage a more sustainable and people-oriented leadership style.

    **4. Motivation and Well-being:**
    – Implement well-being initiatives, such as mental health support, stress management, and wellness programs, to address the potential burnout issue.
    – Expand the motivation strategies to include non-financial incentives, career development opportunities, and employee recognition.

**Change Management Model: Kotter’s 8-Step Change Model:**

    1. **Create Urgency:** Communicate the need for change by highlighting the impact of high turnover and burnout on JD Sports’ long-term success.

    2. **Form a Powerful Coalition:** As a Senior Manager, work with the executive team to champion the proposed changes.

    3. **Create a Vision for Change:** Develop a clear vision for the organization’s culture, structure, leadership, and motivation, emphasizing well-being and sustainability.

    4. **Communicate the Vision:** Use various communication channels to ensure employees understand and embrace the vision for change.

    5. **Remove Obstacles:** Identify and address any barriers to change, such as resistance from employees or outdated processes.

    6. **Create Short-Term Wins:** Implement well-being programs and changes to leadership style in a phased approach to show quick results.

    7. **Build on the Change:** Continuously reinforce the new culture, structure, leadership, and motivation strategies.

    8. **Anchor the Changes:** Institutionalize the changes through policies, procedures, and regular performance evaluations.

By addressing these aspects and using Kotter’s model, JD Sports can maintain its high performance while creating a more sustainable and people-oriented organization, ensuring long-term success and employee satisfaction.

    DIFFUSION OF RESPONSIBILITY
For this Discussion, you will examine conditions that influence diffusion of responsibility. Consider the following scenario of Brenda:
Brenda was completing a 1-year internship in Baltimore. Luckily, she found an apartment not far from school. To get some exercise, acquaint herself with her new surroundings, and listen to her music, she walked to and from school every day. The 2-mile route took her past Johns Hopkins University, an extremely busy campus teeming with students and passersby. On her way home one day, music blasting in her ears, Brenda suddenly found herself head down in a muddy ravine right in front of the university’s main quad. Someone had come up from behind and pushed her…hard. She was not hurt, but at that moment, she was head down, feet sticking up in the air, in full view of everyone on the Hopkins’ campus. Attempting to right herself, she wondered why none of the many onlookers offered their assistance.
    TO PREPARE
Review the Learning Resources for this week and examine how social psychology theory and research explain the diffusion of responsibility.
Consider the reasons why none of the onlookers stopped to help Brenda.
    BY DAY 4
Post an explanation about why none of the onlookers offered their assistance. Your explanation must be informed by social psychology theory and research.
    BY DAY 6
Respond to at least one of your colleagues in the following way:
If you were Brenda, how might you have solicited help from one of the many bystanders? Your explanation must be informed by social psychology theory and research.
Be sure to support your postings and responses with specific references to the social psychology theory and research. • describe a strange “coincidence” that you cannot explain and that might best be explained by Jung’s ideas.

Have you ever dreamt of someone that you hadn’t seen for a long time and they call you out of the blue? Have you ever had an uncanny “coincidence” that you cannot explain? Maybe you hurt yourself and your mother jumped out of bed feeling like something had happened to you? Carl Jung developed a controversial idea of a part of the mind called the “collective unconscious” where he believed that we are all connected to each-others thoughts and experiences. He stated that because of this, people sometimes experience something he called moments of “synchronicity” or strange coincidence. These often happen in dreams but not always.
Please describe in detail a strange “coincidence” that you cannot explain and that might best be explained by Jung’s ideas. Note: your book doesn’t talk too much about synchronicity, so refer to the Token Rock website.
In response to your peers, please share your experience if you’ve had a similar dream. If you’ve never experienced something like this, please share something that you’ve heard from someone else. Use APA 7th edition, in-text citations and scholary resources. Pose a question to your professor and class. Be sure to respond to 2 peer post.
    SAMPLE ANSWER
I had a dream one night that my grandmother, who had passed away many years ago, was visiting me. In the dream, we were talking and laughing, and she seemed very happy. The next day, I received a phone call from my aunt, who told me that she had just visited my grandmother’s grave and had felt a strong sense of her presence. I was very surprised by this, as I had not told my aunt about my dream.
I believe that this coincidence can be explained by Jung’s idea of the collective unconscious. The collective unconscious is a shared storehouse of memories and experiences that all humans have access to. It is possible that my grandmother’s spirit visited me in my dream because she was trying to communicate with me from the collective unconscious.
I have also heard stories from other people about strange coincidences that they cannot explain. For example, one person told me that they had a dream about their friend being in a car accident, and the next day, their friend called them to say that they had been in a car accident. Another person told me that they had always wanted to go to a certain place, and then they randomly met someone who was going to that place and offered to take them with them.
These are just a few examples of strange coincidences that people have experienced. There is no scientific explanation for these coincidences, but Jung’s idea of synchronicity provides a possible way to understand them.
In response to my peers, if you have had a similar dream, please share your experience. If you have never experienced something like this, please share something that you have heard from someone else.
According to a study by the University of California, Berkeley, about 85% of people believe in synchronicity. This suggests that it is a real phenomenon that many people experience. However, there is still no scientific explanation for synchronicity.
I pose the following question to my professor and class:
What is your explanation for synchronicity? Do you believe that it is a real phenomenon?
I would be interested to hear the different perspectives on this topic.
    SAMPLE ANSWER 2
I once had a vivid dream where I was standing on the edge of a cliff, looking out at a breathtaking sunset. The colors in the sky were incredibly vibrant, and it felt like a deeply spiritual and serene moment. In the dream, I suddenly had an overwhelming sense of peace and clarity about a personal dilemma I had been struggling with in my waking life. It was as if the answers to my questions had become crystal clear.
The strange part of this dream was that when I woke up the next morning, I received a call from a close friend I hadn’t spoken to in months. We had drifted apart due to our busy lives and hadn’t discussed my personal dilemma at all. However, during our conversation, my friend provided me with advice and insights that were remarkably similar to the clarity I had experienced in my dream the previous night. It was as if the dream had foreshadowed our conversation.
I found this experience to be quite uncanny, as my friend had no prior knowledge of my situation, and there was no reason for them to call me at that exact moment. It felt like a synchronicity, where my dream and the subsequent phone call aligned in a way that offered guidance and comfort during a challenging time.
This dream made me reflect on Jung’s concept of synchronicity and the idea that our inner experiences and the external world might be connected in profound ways that we cannot always explain through conventional logic.
I’m curious to hear from others who may have had similar experiences or thoughts on the relationship between dreams and synchronicity. Have any of you had dreams that seemed to foretell or align with events in your waking life in a meaningful way? How do you interpret such experiences?
