Cultural humility is a key feature of effective and ethical practice. To fully respond to another’s culture, we have to remember that we view it through our own cultural lens. Professors Syllabus Directions For Assignment Needed: Students will select a play therapy technique (Mine is Clay Therapy**) (which is not discussed in asynchronous) and provide a 5-8 minute demonstration of that technique to their classmates during the Week 5 live session. My Personal Directions For Assignment Needed: This assignment HAS to be done using the Clay Therapy I was assigned which is (Clay Play Therapy). I added 5 Speaker notes. Please use part of the speaker notes to write the handout needed for this assignment and then use the other part of the speaker notes to go along with the presentation slides as actual speaker notes. As for the assignment being about Clay Therapy, I can give you some information that will help you in doing this assignment. You can discuss Clay therapy in multiple ways; for the demonstration part of this assignment; similar to the draw therapy technique you might say that a therapist could ask a child to make figures of each person in their family. Then the therapist would maybe then go about asking the child to place family members in relation to each other. This could tell the therapist who the child feels closest to or farther from subject to his emotions.
This is just one idea, you do not have to use it, since it is a large assignment you can have multiple ideas for each topic written out in the Professor’s directions above for the handout and the demonstration.
